About This Design

Minuit Fleuri works at the point where midnight darkness meets jewel-toned extravagance. Against a near-black ground, oversized orb forms in deep magenta, teal, burnt gold, cobalt, and rich plum bloom like lanterns hung in a night garden. White birds with flashes of vivid colour on their wings and tails move between the orbs with the ease of creatures entirely at home in this saturated world. Each orb carries fine interior patterning: concentric lines, floral forms, texture that catches under changing light. The darkness of the ground is what gives the whole composition its intensity. Every orb reads as luminous against it, and every white bird reads as almost impossibly bright. At upholstery scale this is a fabric that announces itself. On a statement armchair or a pair of scatter cushions on a dark sofa, Minuit Fleuri turns any piece into a focal point that needs no further explanation.

The Inspiration

The Japanese Obon lantern festivals, where thousands of lit paper lanterns float on dark water or rise into a night sky, each one a small bright world surrounded by darkness. Minuit Fleuri takes that visual memory and gives it a garden of birds and colour, the darkness as essential as the light.

What It Carries

This is a fabric for evenings rather than mornings, for rooms that come into their own when the lights drop low. The jewel tones intensify under warm artificial light, and the birds seem to move between the orbs differently as shadows shift.
