The Work

Brick red, antique honey, and deep maroon roses fill this canvas densely, their hyper-saturated petals bleeding downward in long paint trails against a deep navy ground. The composition holds no clear negative space, every rose pressed against the next, drips running the full height of the lower canvas. A single antique honey rose near the top breaks the red dominance.

The Inspiration

This piece pushed rose density to its limit while letting the paint itself run loose beneath the blooms, colour that refuses to stay contained within each flower's own shape. The single honey-toned rose was left in deliberately, one point of temperature shift inside an otherwise unified red field.

What It Carries

The density and bleed together create real intensity, closer to a colour event than a floral arrangement. The single honey-toned note keeps the piece from reading as one flat wash of red.
