About This Design

Dark navy canopies spread wide and flat across a teal-blue ground, each one resting on a pale, near-white trunk that stands out like birch bark against deep water. Between the trees, low bands of mustard float like cloud lit by a late sun, the only warm colour in the whole pattern. Beyond them, snow-capped peaks rise in soft grey and white, so the repeat has a distant, cold horizon to look toward. Tall trees and short ones share the repeat, overlapping in places, which gives the pattern depth despite its restrained palette. At a distance it reads as a cool winter landscape with sudden warmth. Up close, the small details come forward, from the pale trunk lines to the edge of each peak. Within Ancient Giants, Snowline is the coldest design, with one warm exception.

The Inspiration

Snowline is named for the height on a mountain where the trees finally stop and only snow stays. Below it, the old trees hold on, flat-topped and weathered, shaped by every winter they have outlasted. The last light of a winter afternoon catches the cloud around them and turns it mustard. Teal and navy are the cold that surrounds them, and the one warm band is the reward for anyone who looks up in time.

What It Carries

Snowline carries the quiet of high, cold places and the relief of warmth within them. The navy and teal cool a space, while the single mustard band keeps it from ever feeling closed. It suits spaces that want calm with a thread of warmth, somewhere restful in a clear, crisp way.
