About This Design

Blue does all the talking here, moving from pale sky to deep navy across thick impasto strokes, ridged like cold water. Large trunks rise through the repeat, their canopies spreading into soft, layered crowns, while a bare, rounded tree stands between them with its branches open to the air. Beyond the trees, a range of blue mountains sits above a flat band of still water, so the whole pattern has a horizon to rest on. The pale grey ground carries a faint woven grain that lets the blues glow without competing.
