About This Design
Tight whirlpool spirals in teal, deep red, and burnt orange coil at the base of each form, while tall flame-shaped leaves rise between them in bands of amber, purple, and jewel green. Rendered in impasto strokes, the surface has real sculptural depth, closer to carved stone foliage than flat pattern, each curl catching shadow the way relief work does under changing light. The rhythm here is denser and more continuous than elsewhere in Cathedral Glass, one spiral turning directly into the next with barely a pause, giving the whole design a sense of ornament caught mid motion. This is the richest, most saturated palette in the collection, every colour pushed toward its deepest register. Within Cathedral Glass, this design carries the most decorative intensity, closer to a single carved finial than a wide architectural feature.
The Inspiration
A finial sits at the very top of a spire or pinnacle, small, deliberate, carved with a density of detail that larger stonework below cannot afford. This design borrows that same concentrated ornament, its spiralling forms coiling and releasing in continuous rhythm the way foliate carving wraps around a finial's narrow point. Art Nouveau's sinuous curve finds its most compressed, most decorative expression here, growth carved into its smallest, most considered form.
What It Carries
There is a particular richness in ornament this dense, pattern that rewards looking rather than glancing. This design carries that same intensity into a room, a chair, a cushion, a length of curtain that becomes the room's focal point rather than its backdrop. It does not sit quietly in a scheme. It asks to be the detail everything else is arranged around.
Design Size Options
This design is available in three layout scales:
Grand: A larger-scale composition that reads with authority across statement furniture and feature walls.
Classic: A balanced, repeated layout with natural structure and rhythm. Works across most applications.
Detailed: A fine-scale repeat where the impasto texture becomes the surface itself. Ideal for scatter cushions, smaller upholstery panels, and layered soft furnishings.
Style tip: Mark out a small section on your planned project surface to see how the Detailed scale reads in your space. That preview will show you exactly how the texture and rhythm land before you commit to a size.

Preview Disclaimer
Please note: Slight tonal variations may appear between previews and your final printed fabric. This is a result of base fabric texture, lighting conditions in styled photography, and natural variation between fabric substrates. Preview images are styled to show the design's potential across different applications.
