About This Design

Teal fern fronds rise across a soft cream ground, each one built from tightly layered lines that fan outward like a hand opening. Threaded between them, a small crimson tulip form breaks the rhythm just enough to keep the eye moving. The impasto effect gives the fronds real dimension, ridged and slightly raised, so the pattern catches light differently depending on the angle it's viewed from.

At close range, the detail inside each frond feels almost botanical, careful and layered. Step back and the whole surface settles into an easy, breathing rhythm, teal and cream trading space with none of the density found elsewhere in this collection. Against the more formal, jewel toned pieces in the 1925 Deco Collection, The Riviera Plume reads lighter, more relaxed, closer to a seaside promenade than a ballroom.

The Inspiration

This one came from thinking about resort season on the French coast, striped cabanas, palm fronds moving in sea air, the particular ease of a hotel terrace in early summer. The crimson tulip is a small nod to the florals that turn up in that same setting, a single bright note against all that cool teal and cream.

What It Carries

There's a lightness to this design that most of the collection doesn't reach for. It suits a room that wants warmth without weight, a sunroom, a coastal guesthouse, upholstery that doesn't need to announce itself. The teal keeps things calm, the crimson gives it just enough personality to stop it feeling flat. It's a design for spaces that want to feel like a good holiday.
