Solar Mass is an explosion held in impasto. Raw cadmium yellow fills the central two-thirds of the canvas, the impasto applied in thick ridged strokes that pull outward from a dense white core. Red bleeds in from the left edge, deep and saturated where it meets the yellow and becoming orange at the point of collision. A trace of teal appears at the lower left, the only cool note in an otherwise combustible palette. The surface is heavily textured across the entire canvas, light catching the ridges at any angle.
This piece came from the sun specifically, the kind of direct, overhead summer sun that does not allow for nuance. Yellow at this intensity is not cheerful. It is forceful. The white centre pushes forward because it has more energy than the surrounding colour can absorb. The red intrusion from the left is not conflict: it is what happens when two kinds of heat meet at the edge of their territory.
Solar Mass carries the specific feeling of creative force. Not inspiration, which is gentle. Force, which is not. It is the painting for a room where things are made, decided, or initiated. The white centre creates a visual pressure that keeps the energy of the piece directed forward rather than diffuse.
The yellow, red, and white palette is the warmest in the collection and pairs most naturally with natural timber, terracotta, linen, and cream. Against white walls, the yellow reads with full intensity. Against warm walls, it deepens. Works in studios, creative spaces, kitchens with strong natural light, and any room where warmth and energy are the priority. Available in the large 1200 x 2000mm format for maximum impact.
For the maker, the builder, the person whose energy fills a room before they finish speaking.
