About This Design

Vein of Copper holds a single warm register from edge to edge, burnt orange and deep rust leaves overlapping tightly, each one threaded with fine white veining that fans out from the stem like light catching metal. There is no cool colour anywhere in the piece. Instead, the variation comes from within the same warm family, deep rust sitting in shadow, brighter copper where the light seems to fall directly across a leaf. Rendered with visible grain and soft shadow beneath each shape, the surface holds real dimension rather than sitting flat. At upholstery scale the density reads almost like hammered metal seen up close, warm and textured, with the white veining doing the work of catching the eye and moving it from one leaf to the next. Nothing about it feels muted. It is a single colour pushed as far as it can go before it needs a second one.

The Inspiration

Copper left outdoors changes colour slowly, darkening in some places, catching light in others, never settling into one flat tone. Vein of Copper takes that idea into leaf form, letting a single warm colour family carry all the variation the pattern needs. The white veining came from watching how light traces the ribs of a leaf held up to the sun, a network of fine lines doing more work than colour ever could.
