The Work
Pink on pink on pink, but nothing here is soft. The impasto is at its most aggressive in this piece: thick, directional strokes that push into each other with real force, white highlights cresting like foam at the peak of each ridge. Deep crimson sits in the shadows between forms, and flashes of blue and black press through at the edges, anchoring the composition before it tips entirely into heat. The density is deliberate. No background breathes through here. The paint fills every corner with the same intensity, which makes the rare moments of pale blush feel almost like relief.
The Inspiration
Some storms have no edge you can see. No horizon line, no sky, no point of reference. You're simply inside it, and the only information available is the immediate surface. This piece was built from that interior experience: what it feels like when the pressure is total and there's no distance yet to offer perspective.
What It Carries
The energy in this work is physical. Standing in front of it, you feel the weight of the paint, the insistence of each stroke. It doesn't ask to be understood. It asks to be felt. That's the quality that makes it stay with people: not beauty in the traditional sense, but presence. The kind of work that changes the atmosphere of the room it's in.
Living With It
Made for high-contrast spaces: dark walls, industrial textures, polished concrete, black steel frames. The crimson and hot pink read differently depending on the room temperature. Cool spaces push it toward drama. Warmer rooms pull the pink tones forward and soften the intensity slightly. A hotel lobby, a boardroom, or a collector's feature wall would suit this piece without apology.
Who It's For
For the collector who isn't interested in art that decorates. This is for someone who wants work that takes up space, emotionally and physically, and doesn't apologize for it.
