About This Design

Velas Suaves is the collection's most meditative design. Vertical stripes in muted warm ochre, forest green, dusty teal, pale cream, and soft burgundy run the full length of the surface, each stripe rendered with a thick impasto texture that gives the vertical lines real body and presence. The palette is quieter than the rest of the collection, the saturation turned down just enough to shift the mood from festive to contemplative. The stripes are not uniform in width, and the edges carry the natural variation of a surface built up by hand, which stops the design from reading as a conventional stripe and keeps it firmly in the world of original art. At fabric scale, Velas Suaves is exceptional on curtains, where the vertical lines do structural work while the muted palette sits comfortably in almost any interior colour scheme.
