About This Design

El Torrente is vertical movement at its most committed. Thick, gestural stripes in every colour of the spectrum run from top to bottom of the surface, each one rendered with a visible impasto texture that gives the stripe body and weight. Teal, cobalt, magenta, forest green, warm ochre, burnt orange, deep crimson, and cream sit side by side in a composition that is simultaneously structured and expressive. No two stripes are the same width. The edges are not clean. This is a design that knows the difference between a stripe and a ruled line, and it chooses the stripe every time. At fabric scale, El Torrente works beautifully on curtains, where the vertical emphasis elongates any window and the full-spectrum palette brings the outside in.
