Cactus organises the surface into vertical impasto stripes in deep magenta, burnt orange, and deep crimson, with rounded oval dabs placed alongside each stripe that suggest the spines and pads of a cactus column without depicting one literally. The palette is warm and intense, running through magenta, orange, crimson, dusty rose, and warm yellow against a white ground that keeps the composition readable.
