About This Design
Hojas en Alto lifts a field of long, pointed leaves toward the top of the surface. Teal and navy blades sweep across the composition in slow diagonals while orange, mustard yellow, olive green, magenta and red leaves stand upright between them. Each leaf is rendered in thick impasto-style strokes, so every blade looks raised and ridged, with its own light side and shadow side. Leaves overlap, lean and cross, yet the direction of travel stays clear: up. White ground shows in narrow channels between the forms, which keeps the density from becoming heavy. The result reads as rhythm more than pattern, a surface that seems to be mid-sway. The upright forms follow the drop of the cloth and the diagonals add movement, which suits any room and application where colour should feel energetic and orderly at once.
The Inspiration
The Fiesta de Colores collection draws from the warmth and vibrance of traditional Mexican celebration. Hojas en Alto draws on the leaf forms of Otomí embroidery from Tenango, where plants are stitched in saturated colour onto pale cloth and every leaf is given its own shade. The pale ground and the colour-beside-colour discipline of that tradition run through this design. The leaf is the main event here, and no flower is needed to make the point.
What It Carries
Hojas en Alto is the most rhythmic design in Flores de Fiesta. There are no flower heads to rest on, so the eye rides the leaves up and across, again and again, the way it follows a drumbeat. That steady pulse gives a room energy without disorder. It suits spaces that want movement built into the surface, with a palette strong enough to hold its own beside natural materials and plain walls. Colour does the singing, and the leaves keep time.
Design Size Options
This design is available in three layout scales:
Grand: A larger-scale composition that reads with authority across statement furniture and feature walls.
Classic: A balanced, repeated layout with natural structure and rhythm. Works across most applications.
Detailed: A fine-scale repeat where the impasto texture becomes the surface itself. Ideal for scatter cushions, smaller upholstery panels, and layered soft furnishings.
Style tip: Mark out a small section on your planned project surface to see how the Detailed scale reads in your space. That preview will show you exactly how the texture and rhythm land before you commit to a size.
