Gestural vertical forms that suggest layered leaves and pressed botanical shapes fill the surface in stacked arrangements, each one rendered in a rich impasto style that gives the work genuine texture and depth. The palette moves through earthy rust, warm ochre, deep teal, olive, and cream, colours that carry the feeling of dried plant matter and natural pigment without being literal about it. The forms are not quite leaves and not quite stripes. They sit between the two, which is what makes Hojas Vivas so interesting at fabric scale. The Inspiration

The Fiesta de Colores collection draws its soul from the warmth and vibrance of traditional Mexican celebrations. Hojas Vivas, meaning "living leaves," reaches into the natural world that surrounds Mexican craft tradition, the dried botanicals, pressed flowers, and organic forms that appear in folk art, textile dyeing, and artisan markets.
