About This Design

Black dominates here, pooling into deep, uneven shapes that climb and recede against a warm neutral ground. Rust and olive surface in narrow bursts between the darker passages, never quite settling into a fixed position twice. A faint haze sits along the border of every shape, colour fading rather than holding a hard line. Up close, the surface reads as texture first, colour second, every patch slightly different in how far it reaches before fading out. From across a room, the pattern settles into a moody, uneven rhythm, dark and warm trading the eye back and forth without ever repeating the same sequence twice. The Inspiration

Hollow began with the question of how far colour can recede before it disappears entirely, rust and olive pulled back almost to the point of vanishing into black. The near-absence of light became the subject rather than an accident, each warmer tone surfacing only briefly before the dark reclaims the ground around it. Edges blur and soften so each tone melts into its neighbour rather than standing apart from it. It carries the specific tension of something nearly lost, caught at the exact point before it would have gone fully dark.

What It Carries

This fabric holds a kind of quiet weight that brighter prints can't offer. The rust and olive keep the black from reading as flat or heavy, giving the eye small moments of warmth to rest on between the darker stretches.
